Provisional Application for Patent Filed July 2019

We have filed a provisional application for a patent to cover metered dosing formulations of plant and fungal compounds for oral, nasal, sublingual, and topical use. We are developing solutions for metered dosing for mushrooms, Ayahuasca/DMT, and peyote/mescaline.

Our lead chemist on the project is Michael Hartman, who has developed extensive metered-dose inhaler IP in the pharmaceutical world through Pearl Therapeutics and others before developing his pressurized (using 134A Freon) metered-dose inhaler IP (patent pending) through his company Island Breeze Systems CA Inc., under the "Mystabis" trademarked brand.

Solutions for myco-phobia

The problems we are attempting to address through protectible IP (patent and trade secrets) are as follows:

  1. How to deliver a predictable and safe experience; and
  2. How to make them palatable.

To make it easier for those in the flyover states, the elderly, and the uninformed, we need to be able to safely address speed of onset, stacking of dosing, and predictability of dosing at therapeutic, sub-psychedelic levels.

Problems with Getting Psychedelics Mainstream

The final challenge to mushrooms is the taste and fear of the unknown. While Mike eats a lot of urban- and forest-foraged mushrooms in general (having grown up in Missouri with morels during every spring turkey season and living in the Pac NW), that is not the case for a myco-phobic society who has long ago lost its connection to individual mushroom’s psychoactive effects and caloric availability. Whereas berries, fruits, and other vegetation are predictable and visible for long periods of time, humans have evolved closely with mushrooms that only pop up at seemingly random times for just days and then they are gone. They are mysterious and scary.  We believe that the taste issue and fear of mushrooms in general can be addressed through predictable dosing.

We are looking for strategic partners!

If you have a similar idea that you are tackling, let’s talk. A rising tide lifts all ships. We can discuss collaborating. Speed to market is the key so that these seemingly miraculous compounds can be accessed by those that need them most: our veterans, survivors of violence, and those with depression and anxiety. Together we can stop the cycle of trauma that has affected generations.

It’s time for a societal reboot and reload.
